GPA CALCULATION
GPA is computed using a numerical grade average. Adding the numerical semester grade of each course attempted at the high school level and dividing the total number by the number of courses attempted determines a student’s grade point average.
Honors, AP, and dual credit classes are weighted an extra 10 points for each semester in which the student completes the designated advanced class with a passing semester grade. Credits earned in summer school, before entering the 9
th grade, or through credit-by-exam or correspondence are not used to calculate a student’s GPA.
GPA/RANK IN CLASS School policy eliminated class rank beginning with the Class of 2011 except for the valedictorian and salutatorian of the graduating class.
GRADING SCALE/GRADING POLICY: Grades are based on a numerical basis, with the letter grade equivalent shown below.
90%-100%= A (excellent)
80%-90%= B (above average)
70%-79%=C (average)
Below 70%=F (non-mastery)
