November 8th – College Night with Texas A&M and Galveston College
This evening will be a discussion about the college admissions and financial aid process. It will be held in the Cafeteria from 6; 30-8pm. The two colleges will talk about their programs and other pertinent college details. FAFSA opened on October 1st and is available at this point. If you have questions about FAFSA or this night, please let me know.
Juniors-
Week of November 5, 2018
The career project that the students have been working on throughout the semester is due on Thursday, November 8th. During 1st and 3rd period, the students will each present their top three careers. In addition, they must give sources, and follow the sheet that has been handed to them for expectations and requirements.

Seniors-
Week of November 5, 2018
Seniors will present a two part talk for 3-5 minutes on Thursday, November 8th. They will share with the class their progress and information concerning their senior project and their progress on next steps after O’Connell. This is a way to get them ready and hone their presentation skills. They will be responsible to present their senior project at the end of the year.

COLLEGE PREPARATORY PROGRAM
The purpose of the College Prep Program is to assist students as they embark upon their future college and career planning. At the beginning of Freshman year each student is advised on how to plan their high school experience in order to reach their goals both academically and professionally.
College Prep 101 Class
College Prep 101 Class meets once a week for all juniors and seniors of O’Connell College Preparatory School. The objective of the class is for students to understand all facets of college and career planning. The seminar strives to allow the students an opportunity to become familiar with the college admissions and financial aid process. Also, the class encompasses the following areas:

100% of our graduating seniors have been accepted into 2 and 4 year college and universities.
Please plan on presenting this in front of the class. Do not use Wikipedia and plan to have at least three sources. You can be creative (dress the part), do a power point, poster or anything that will help us understand your career choice. Most of all have fun with this project.
